what're you lookin' at?

Ahh, Kenji you make me smile.

I signed up for two races this spring, and anyone who is able should train for and run them w/ me. Better register soon though! Earth Day 1/2 Marathon April 21 in St. Cloud, and Grandma's Marathon June 16 in Duluth. Just do it! --please sever any connections your mind just made to Nike. Asics are the way to go.

September 19

Is that reeeeally the last time I blogged? I am oh so sorry. If any of you still check this, let's bring you up to date a bit.

It's 2007! Hard to believe. New Years resolutions didn't seem like the thing to do this year for some reason, but I do have some goals (the distinction is that they were already goals before 2007, and have nothing to do w/ what year it is. Not things I'm starting because it's a new year, just existing goals I will continue to work toward)... one of which is already accomplished! Run a marathon, read from Proverbs-Revelation, apply for school. Yes friends, the essays went out yesterday, the application is complete, except for one recommendation. No secrets here, if I don't get in I will not only be disappointed in myself, but all of you I have announced this to will know. And I've decided that's okay. I will also now have an Eastern University sweatshirt to rub defeat in my face should I not get in, but it's soft and cozy and makes me excited about possiblities for the future =).

This "semester" (starting to think like a student again) I'm adding two classes to my schedule. I'm taking a finance course online as a prereq for the program at Eastern (MBA in International Economic Development if I didn't say that before), and a class called "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement" at a local church. I'm quite excited about Perspectives, we had our first class last night. I'm really excited though to be a student again! Perhaps we could also consider late-night Spanish lessons from Michelle a class as well =). Jill and I are determined to learn!

The New Year brought with it quite an adventure. My family and I went on a cruise last week! Leaving about 4:30 am on the 1st, we flew out of Minneapolis to Miami, and spent the next 5 days enjoying and exploring a cruise ship, as well as Grand Cayman and Jamaica! I ate way too much, read a lot, played w/ my family, and spent a lot of time laying in a beach chair watching the ocean go by. We snorkeled in Grand Cayman, and kayaked in Jamaica... sea kayaking, that is, with stops at James Bond beach and Dunn's River Falls. All very exciting =).

Here's the fam at dinner...
