"You will worship God on this mountain"
(Exodus 3:12)
I'll get to the exciting stuff, but first a recap of February since I missed another month: a roomie reunion and good-bye to dearest Brooke as she left for Mozambique, weeks of abundant Indian food, lots of reading for my missions class, small bits of effort for my finance class =), a concert busted by the fire marshall, Dad's birthday party and some push rummy with the grandparents, the wrapping up (almost) of our audit at work, and a great documentary at the Varsity ( http://www.humdingerpictures.com/).
This blog was certainly created to be more of a forum for thoughts and has digressed to more of a "happenings" page, but I think it's also useful as such for the moment, at least for those of you who still check this. Yes, I love you all family =).
So, here's the news. I got a package from Eastern University recently, complete with an acceptance letter which is now hanging on our refrigerator =). This means, Lord willing, that I will be moving to Philadelphia come September!
Soon after that letter arrived, I was able to nail down plans with an orphanage in Haiti to go there for a month this summer! I'll be doing "something educational" with the kids for 2 hours a day, and hanging out w/ them the rest of the time. I'm quite excited for this opportunity. I am definitely passionate about development, but I feel that once I'm trained in development work I'll want to really do something with that. Then there's the part of me that really just wants to hang out with and love on some kids. So voila, trip to Haiti. God has really orchestrated all of this, and the pieces have just fallen into place in the past few weeks.
An added bit of wonderful-ness surrounding this trip to Haiti is that the orphanage I'm going to is in the mountains =). Thus, the title of this post. Yes, it's taken out of context, but I still think it's really beautiful. And I will most certainly worship God on that mountain!
